On Load Single Phase High Voltage Tap Changer Type No 32 electric locomotive complies with IEC60077-1 (1999-10) requirements. The single phase high voltage tap changer is used to notch up or down the voltage by switching control winding on the high voltage side of the transformer through 32 steps. The tap changer is directly mounted on the transformer, the selectors and circuit breakers together from a constructional unit. Tap changer is designed for operating voltage of 25KV and for high rate of switching of the taps.
